CUSTOMISED TRAINING FOR ORGANISATIONS

Customised Training services are courses delivered directly to your organisation, team or partners. This provides opportunities to:

  • Approach training as a staff and organisational development exercise
  • Ensure all staff acquire even skills and are on the same wavelength
  • Develop the organisation's work, for example, by developing the same project concept
  • Focus on the unique challenges facing a particular organisation

Customised Training can also have further advantages of greater time flexibility, possibility for follow-up and reduced cost per person.

ELD frequently provides training directly to organisations and their partners. While this often means adapting existing training modules to suit a particular organisation, this can also require completely designing courses from scratch based on the client's specifications. Most popular courses include Reporting Skills / Professional Writing and Project Planning / Developing Project Proposals.

All Customised Training programmes are developed through discussion and negotiation with clients, and conducted by highly experienced resource persons with extensive development knowledge and understanding of the local context.

Some recent Customised Training assignments have included:

Human Resources Management Training for RDRS Bangladesh

A team of RDRS staff had joined ELD's Project manager's Toolkit training in Nepal earlier in 2010. They were so impressed, they came back in December, this time for a custom-designed training on HRM. Although just 3 days, the course covered a range of areas such as change management, getting the best out of diverse teams, handling grievances and measuring performance. Depsite time pressure, we even managed to include (by popular request) some work on presentation skills.

"The depth of knowledge of the trainer is really remarkable. He is versatile and meticulous … (and) very talented."

Reporting Skills Training for the Inter-American Development Bank (USA)

ELD Director Neil spent February 2010 in Washington training IDB's Grants and Co-Financing Management Unit on Reporting Skills. All participants on the training were involved in developing donor fund reports for regional projects.
