COURSE OUTCOMES

This practical self-study course will teach you how to design and monitor projects that deliver measurable results for target groups and communities. You will learn a process for project identification, design and M&E planning that will lead to improved outcomes for your project beneficiaries.

Through downloadable course videos, practical exercises and extra materials you will learn how to:

  • Apply the Results-Based Management (RBM) philosophy and principles to drive highly impactful development results
  • Use the Logical Framework Approach (LFA) to easily design, monitor and evaluate humanitarian and community development projects
  • Use RBM and LFA to consistently deliver positive, measurable change that will keep your stakeholders and donors satisfied

The course addresses the challenges faced by development professionals in project design and M&E in a way that allows for maximum practical work. While you will get all the theory you need, you will learn the steps and tools in a way that you can apply time after time after the course is over.

"Wonderful materials, perfect explanation videos and no chance of missing anything. If we follow this course, at the end we have new project with a perfect M&E system. The course is also cost-effective and can be done without affecting routine work."

HOW IT WORKS

As soon as you sign up you get immediate, lifetime access to all the course materials - downloadable course videos, worksheets and extra materials. As a self-paced course, you work through a series of video presentations on various aspects of Results-Based Management, Monitoring & Evaluation at your own pace.

The first part of the course examines the principles of RBM. We then move into designing results-based projects using the Logical Framework Approach. Finally we look at how to build an M&E plan to keep the project on track towards positive, measurable change for target groups and end users.

This is a practical course. At various points you will invited to stop the video and complete different tasks. You will find the worksheets for these inside the course. Please do stop and do the tasks when asked.

All of the videos can be downloaded for off-line study / reference, as can everything else - PDF slides, worksheets and reference materials.

At the end of the course there is a test to measure how successfully you have learned the skills before you are issued with your certificate.

"As a result of the training, RBM is now our in-house tool for project evaluation and appraisal, and we mainstream RBM in all our 37 project offices across Nigeria. Neil opened my eyes to critical issues of linking activities to results and impacts, and his ability to deconstruct and demystify M&E made the training a life-changing experience."
