Logical Framework Approach in Action: From Context to Results Chain

Date: December 16th 2025
Duration: 90-120 minutes
Free to join / replay until December 31st, 2025, then available to Academy subscribers only

This is a working session. We'll take a real development challenge and work through the analytical stages of the Logical Framework Approach together.

The case: A remote, mountainous region where girls seldom move beyond primary education. Poverty, trafficking risk, early marriage, community attitudes, and limited access to social services all play a role.

What we'll do together:

  1. Unpack the context - Understand what's driving the problem
  2. Build a problem tree - Identify root causes, not just symptoms
  3. Map stakeholders - Who needs to be on board? Who might block us?
  4. Prioritize strategies - What approaches will actually work here?
  5. Build the results chain - Create the foundation for a Logframe or Theory of Change

This will be a practical workshop with polls, breakout rooms, and plenty of space to share your ideas.

Who This Is For

✓ Proposal writers who want to strengthen their project logic
✓ Program managers designing new interventions
✓ M&E officers who need to understand where indicators come from
✓ Anyone working with the Logical Framework Approach

Prior LFA experience not required.

What You'll Take Away

  • Experience working through the analytical steps of LFA
  • A problem tree built collaboratively
  • An understanding of the importance of context and stakeholders in intervention design

How It Works

We start with context information about the region and the problem. Together, we'll organize that information into a problem tree, identify key stakeholders, make strategic choices, and build the results chain.

By the end, you'll see how the LFA helps organize your thinking to design better projects.
